About

Orbit Centre of Imagination is a children’s interactive STEM (science, technology, engineering, mathematics) hub located in Sydney’s Inner West. This state-of-the-art learning environment is the first of its kind in Australia and has been designed to inspire the imagination of children aged three to six years through the Orbit STEM program that includes interactive STEM experiences, mind-blowing displays, and educational materials.

Backed by curriculum 

The concept of the Orbit hub was inspired by the Smart Start element in Rise & Shine Education’s Shine Advantage™ curriculum; which focuses on the cognitive development of children through fun and interactive learning experiences which revolve around early literacy and numeracy, STEM and problem-solving.

The Orbit hub environment extends on the Smart Start element by providing a dedicated, thoughtful and creative STEM-themed learning hub that reflects the Australian government’s initiative to move towards more modern and flexible learning spaces.

Since its inception, the Orbit STEM hub has evolved into the Orbit STEM program that is not limited to the Orbit hub itself  but instead includes portable resources such as a portable Planetarium and mobile blue block playgrounds, which can easily be transported to centres for on-site delivery.

The Orbit hub inspires children’s imaginations, stimulates curiosity, encourages problem-solving, innovation and invention.
